What might we create to both impress the guests, as well as provide a welcome retreat from the traditional holiday fare?

Something seasonal, yes.
Something colorful, of course.
Something delicious, absolutely.

Basil Feta Balsamic Persimmon Chips

3 medium fresh persimmons, very thinly sliced
1 Tbs. balsamic reduction
2 Tbs. fresh basil, finely chopped
1/2 cup fresh feta
1 Tbs. olive oil
sea salt and pepper

Assembly is quick and easy. Layer the thinly sliced persimmons across a decorate plate.
Drizzle with the reduction and olive oil and top with the basil and feta. Add more or less, to your pleasing. Season with salt and pepper.

Your guests will thank you.
