For a variety of reasons, we do not often eat out.
First, I so LOVE to cook at home that it really seems pointless. Where we live, it’s hard to beat the gourmet grub that appears on our dinner table. And, as I say this, I guarantee I am remaining humble. I certainly don’t care to toot my own horn.

Things are getting better. We’ve gotten a few stable anchors downtown that are holding strong in terms of independent businesses. And, we, being the social butterflies that we are, have developed great friendships with the restaurant owners and bartenders (mostly) who see us each Friday and Saturday night as we wine and “gin” on our favorite downtown patios.
Another reason I find it tough to eat out – besides the lack of quality cuisine…we live in a town of strip malls and chain restaurants…- is that I’m actually allergic to garlic. Yes, believe it or not.
On many occasion I do cook with garlic for my honey, but simply sideĀ out a portion for myself sans the garlic.
I love it. I love the smell of it. I love the taste of it. But garlic does not love me.
And with that little (or large) issue, it becomes literally impossible to eat out unless you travel to the big city – somewhere more accommodating and a bit more fresh.

Everything contains garlic – especially salad dressings.

Thus, I make my own at home – and sometimes even travel with a pack in my purse when I know I’ll being dining about.

And this summer selection is a winner and worth a little purse snack pack!

It’s super simple – hence the simple photos. No fuss, no muss.

Just goooooood.
