As you’ve learned, I’m working my way into the world of lifestyle blogging.

You can rest assured, though, I will never give up my adoration of fine food and wine – recipes and photography are safe and secure and will always be a part of my life.

Yet, I’ve been having a “craving4more.”

You know…more this, more that, and more hair…gorgeous, lovely locks of hair.

I’d seen the ads and before and after photos for MONAT over the last few months, but wanted to try out the product for myself.
My fine, thin hair would truly be the test of truth for MONAT. Miracle MONAT.

I had the opportunity to work with the Intense Repair product line.

As part of my research on the product, I read all about the science behind the “mo-nate” products – pronounced like “mother-nature.”

Clearly I was ecstatic to try out these products. All natural, gentle, revitalizing, and promising to promote hair growth.
Over the years my locks have thinned and thinned. I’m thankful and blessed for what I have, don’t get me wrong, but I do drool over the lovely long curls and thicker than thick locks of my fellow girlfriends. How could they be so lucky?

Before: (thin, wispy, and really hoping to fill in on top and create some length on the ends)

After 1 Week: (still pretty thin and wispy)

After 2 Weeks: (a little fuller overall, but still a lot of thinning on top)

After 3 Weeks: (it’s definitely getting better)

And, finally after One Month: (things are getting better! – look at that length!)

I went into MONAT with the hopes and dreams of restoring some body and thickness.

The pros of the product:

  • all natural
  • aromatic – it smells so wonderful
  • long-lasting – a little truly goes a long way

My observations of the product:

  • it takes a while – now this is two-fold – I mean, it takes a while to wash your hair! I’ve always been a quick in and quick out of the shower type of gal. While this may be beneficial for a variety of reasons, it’s simply not possible with MONAT. The process requires two shampoos, each at 2 minutes in length, followed by a two minute condition. Six + minutes in the shower is an absolute eternity for me. Eternity. Seriously. I feel like I have much better ways to spend my time ~ but, that said, the washing process did systematically cause me to SLOW DOWN a bit, take some time in the steam of the shower, and enjoy was is meant to be a nourishing and nurturing experience. For that, I must thank MONAT.
  • foam-free – most of us are used to the parabens and fillers in shampoo that cause foam and lather. The absence of all that is a little odd at first, and difficult to get used to. However, once shampooed, conditioned, and rinsed, MONAT leaves you feeling squeaky clean.
  • every other day – yes, I know I’m not supposed to wash my hair every day, but it’s SO hard. SO hard for me. I feel greasy, oily, and just downright dirty. It was suggested that I only wash every other day, or even every third day with MONAT, and that the greasy feeling would get better. I don’t know…I went with it, and wore a lot of ponies on the second days. I tried my hardest. Perhaps it’s just psychological, but I really, really like to have a clean head of hair, especially as I lay my princess head down to sleep. I can’t risk getting that tiara dirty!

The cons of the product:

  • price – while I understand we pay for quality, the price tag for this miracle method of washing seemed a little out of reach for me – it may be worth the sales opportunity, though.
  • convenience – it certainly may be worth the sales opportunity, but for me, not to be able to purchase product from a regular retailer is a little bit of a scary downer. I know I’m psychologically different than most, but I like that “safety net” of knowing I can head over to Nordy’s at any time and what I need will be placed in my diamond studded handbag (not really, but you know what I mean).

Overall, I think MONAT is a fabulous phenomenon. My hair feels sleeker, silkier, sexier…and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to try it out.
I do believe my hair is healthier.

It may not have grown the leaps and bounds in which I was hoping, but I still have time. I still have plenty of product left with which to update you.

My very favorite part of MONAT:

We’re Making Gratitude a Way of Life!

In an effort to treat everyone like family – and help them discover beautiful lives inside and out – we share our time, our energy and our resources with the communities that we call home. Gratitude has the power to transform our perception and allow our brain to focus on the positive. At MONAT, our focus is on making the world better by working with organizations that have a positive impact on society.

We often ask:
“If all your prayers were answered, would they change the entire world or just yours?”

That said, I’m very grateful.

And, I invite YOU to try out MONAT for yourself!
Ashley Bradshaw at Radiant Designs is the place for you! She knows it all and she has it all. She IS the face (at least in my opinion, of MONAT)
Thanks, Ashley, for all that you do.
