Chronically inspired as I observe on the other side of the bar, yet consistently intrigued as I craft my own cocktails in my kitchen, this one was recently inspired by a dear friend.

My darling…

The Mon Chéri

2 oz. bourbon
1 oz. dry sherry
1/2 oz. sweet vermouth
1 tsp. simple syrup
juice and zest of 1/2 lime
1 chunk candied ginger
1 Luxardo cherry

Combine the bourbon, sherry, vermouth, syrup, and lime juice in a mixing glass with plenty of ice. Stir vigorously. Strain and serve up, garnished with lime zest, a slice of lime, candied ginger, and a cherry.
