Blood Orange Salt Crystals

Magic crystals.

Blood Orange Salt Crystals 

1 cup sea salt
3 cups filtered water
1 blood orange

1 liter Mason jar (or any vessel – get creative)
1 chopstick (again, you can be creative)
2 feet of string
1 clean nickel or washer

 

Dissolve the salt in the water and add the juice, along with the zest and even some of the peel of the orange ~ carefully ensuring the vibrant red juice does not dispel about the area – the Mason jar. 

 

Immerse the string into the jar, fastening the immersed end to a weight – nickel or washer – and secure with a chopstick.

Place in a cool, dark area, allowing plenty of air circulation, for 1-2 weeks. Wait (and maybe watch) for the gorgeous crystals to grow.

 

Imagine the possibilities of the amazing jewels.
