Baked Bread Cheese & Baharat
If you’re so lucky to come across a package labeled “bread cheese” the next time you hit up the cheese counter, don’t ask questions—just buy it. Bring it home and heat it up however you’d like—in the toaster oven, microwave, sautéed in a pan, or thrown on the grill. Once it’s heated through and glossy, slice it into strips, eat, and thank us later.
Thank you, Bon Appétit…and…you’re welcome!
Bahārāt is a spice mixture typically used in Middle Eastern and Greek cuisine.
The ground spice blend may include:
· Allspice
· Black Peppercorns
· Cardamom
· Cloves
· Coriander
· Cumin
· Nutmeg
· Turmeric
· Saffron
· Ginger
This particular blend I made was a simple mixture of black pepper, allspice, cinnamon, coriander, cloves, cardamom, and nutmeg. Yet, the complexity of flavor was truly divine.

Bake, drizzle with honey, and top with fresh slices of tomato, sea salt, and fresh dill.
Of course, do not forget the fresh bread and wine!
