Sea Salt Caramel M&M Shortbread
I adore making shortbread. It’s so easy – no eggs required, no stand mixer – it’s simple, AND it’s so delicious. Buttery and moist, it brings me back to my childhood of devouring Walker’s Shortbread cookies and Trefoil Girl Scout Cookies. YUM!
These are a bit more special. Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce and vibrant M&M candies create a little more of a unique texture and flavor to what would be considered a traditional butter cookie.
Try them out and enjoy!
Sea Salt Caramel M&M Shortbread
1 stick butter, melted
1 1/2 cups Salted Caramel Sauce, melted
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 cup powdered sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 lb. M&M candies
Combine the flour, sugar, and baking powder.
Stir in the butter and melted caramel. Mix well with a spatula to form a dough.
Fold in the M&M candies.
Transfer to a large sheet of plastic wrap and carefully mold into a 2″ diameter log.
Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 325. Slice the chilled shortbread log into cookie coins.
Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for about 15-20, until the edges begin to turn golden brown.
Best served with a giant glass of milk!
