Cinnamon Lemon Sugar Roll




This is no ordinary cinnamon roll.


Sure, those are absolutely wonderful.


But this is even better.


Homemade dough, slathered in butter, sprinkled with cinnamon, homemade lemon sugar, and candied lemon peel, rolled and baked to perfection, and then topped with cinnamon lemon butter – oh my – can you even wait to dig in?



Cinnamon Lemon Sugar Roll 

1/2 recipe Homemade Pizza Dough
2 Tbs. butter, room temperature
2 Tbs. Lemon Sugar and Candied Lemon Peel
1 tsp. ground cinnamon

 

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

 

Roll out the dough into a flat round.


Slather with butter and sprinkle with lemon sugar and peel and cinnamon.


Roll up and then twist into a knot, of sorts.

 

Bake on a parchment-lined baked sheet for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.

 

Drizzle with any melted cinnamon sugar butter that leaks out during baking, and sprinkle with additional sweetness.
