Triple Chocolate Orange Cheesecake
It was cheesecake. It was fine. It had a buttery, crumbly, graham cracker crust, with a very rich yet light, cream cheese filling… (Pause) Wow! My whole mouth just filled with saliva!
This cheesecake is amazing.
Triple Chocolate Orange Cheesecake.
It has a buttery, crumbly, orange chocolatey graham cracker crust, with a very rich, yet light, cream cheese vanilla orange filling, and a rich chocolate orange ganache glaze.
How can you NOT want this?
Triple Chocolate Orange Cheesecake
Crust:
1 sleeve graham crackers, finely ground into crumbs
4.5 oz (1/2 pkg) Famous Chocolate Wafers, finely ground into crumbs
8 Tbs. (1 stick butter), room temperature and chopped
zest of 1 large orange
3 oz. THEO Orange Dark Chocolate Bar, broken into pieces
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Process all the ingredients together in the bowl of a large food processor, until crumbly.
Press the crumbs into a parchment lined cheesecake pan.
Bake for 15 minutes, until just beginning to brown and aromatic.
Remove from the oven and cool for at least one hour.
Filling:
16 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
8 oz. sour cream, room temperature
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
juice of 1 fresh orange
Adjust the oven temperature to 300 degrees.
Whir together all the filling ingredients until smooth.
Pour into and over the cooled crust.
Bake for 75-90 minutes, until just beginning to brown around the edges and slightly jiggly in the center – until almost completely “set.”
Remove from the oven and cool for at least two hours – the cheesecake may crack, but that’s perfectly okay.
Transfer to the fridge and chill overnight.
Using a knife, release the cake from the pan and transfer it to a serving dish.
Chocolate Orange Ganache Glaze:
12 oz. dark chocolate chunks
3/4 cup heavy cream
juice and zest of 1 fresh orange
Over VERY low heat, combine the glaze ingredients and continually stir until melted and thick.
Drizzle over the chilled cheesecake, allowing the ganache glaze to ooze and drip down the sides.
Chill again for several hours before slicing and serving. YUM!
Store in the fridge for several days, if not devoured all at once!!!!
“Oh-ho-ho-ho-no! No! No switching! No sharing, and don’t come crying to me! Ha-ha-ha! I may just sit here and have my cake all day! Just sit here in the hallway and eat my… (Rachel knocks the plate from his hand and it falls on the floor. That process leaves just the forkful Chandler has, Rachel starts to go after that little bit and Chandler retreats into his apartment.)”
