Spicy ๐ถ Righteous Cacao Shortbread Squares
I love me some spice in my life!
Yes, sir! That’s right.
Cinnamon, and maybe a little cayenne, ginger – they all do the trick.
And Righteously Raw Chocolate is also one of my very favorite things.
So, we have a match made in heaven, right?
Righteously Raw Spice Bite: Whoa! Yes, “the way chocolate ought to be” with Cacao & Synergy Spice. I like spice–spiced
chocolate. Cinnamon is one of my favorites like I said, – and these puppies are S.P.I.C.Y. The Anji Panca Powder does the trick. This superfood, coupled with cayenne and cinnamon, will truly knock your socks off! (Oh, and there is a creamy, crunchy filling, as well).
I think next time I’ll enjoy a few of these bite-sized pieces of spiced amazingness with double scoops of raw, vegan, homemade Cherry Vanilla Ice Crรจme. THE PERFECT combination.
Aji Panca is a type of chili pepper that is commonly grown in Peru. It is a dark red, mild pepper with a smokey taste and fruit overtones.
For now, before I whip up the sweet, creamy ice cream, I’ll bake these puppies into TO DIE FOR Spicy Righteous Cacao Shortbread Bites. ๐ถ
And, just to make sure I get my dose of RAW chocolate in for the day, I’ll nosh on a few bites of the chocolate squares just before baking! ๐
Spicy ๐ถ Righteous Cacao Shortbread Squares
1/2 cup salted butter, melted and slightly cooled
1/2 cup coconut oil, melted and slightly cooled (a vegan version of this recipe would use all coconut oil)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
8 squares of Righteously Raw Spice Bites, chopped
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
Mix the melted butter/oil together with the flour, sugar, and baking soda, until a nice dough ball forms.
Fold in the raw chocolate.
Press into a parchment-lined square baking dish.
Flatten and bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and cool completely before slicing into spicy, decadent, buttery squares of delight!
