Sweet Lemon Tomato Provolone Olive Oil Tortas

 Spanish tortas, or handmade, crispy flatbreads, can only be enjoyed when made with the finest ingredients: high-quality flour, and exceptional olive oil. 


 

There’s no deviating when it comes to food standards – in this case, or ever – only the best for the BEST (that’s YOU!).


These handmade, crispy tortas are a great little snack with a perfect balance of sweetness and delightful lemony flavor, earthy blistered tomato, funky Provolone cheese, and even a little prosciutto roll up on the side.

This is your sunny side up to the day! 



Sweet Lemon Tomato Provolone Olive Oil Tortas 

Lemon Sweet Olive Oil Tortas (OR homemade tortas, drizzled with lemon juice and dusted with sugar)
12 slices Provolone cheese
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
freshly cracked black pepper

 

Preheat the broiler.

 

Line 3 tortas with 2 slices of Provolone cheese. 

 

Top each with 1/3 of the sliced tomatoes and black pepper. 

 

Stack the final 2 cheese slices over each mound, and layer with the last 3 tortas.

 

Broil for 1-2 minutes until the cheese and sugar begin to bubble.

 

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with freshly ground pepper.

 

Serve with sliced meats, if desired.
