Double Chocolate Cherry Cookies

Both of the recipients of these dark, double chocolate cherry cookie gems responded with high-pitched glee:

“Chocolate and cherry is my very favorite combination!! Thank you!”

Well, there you go. Chocolatey. Lots of cherry. Plenty of chewiness.

Double Chocolate Cherry Cookies

1 stick (8 Tbs. butter), room temperature
1 cup dark chocolate nut (or nut-free, soy nut) butter
1 cup sugar
3 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. sea salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups miniature chocolate chips
1 cup dried cherries

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Cream together the butter, chocolate “nut” butter, sugar, and eggs, until light and fluffy.

Add the vanilla, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, and cream again.

Stir in the flour and mix well.

Fold in the chocolate chips and dried cherries.

Form into 1″ sized balls and place on a parchment-lined cookie sheet.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, until fragrant and just beginning to brown on the edges.

Remove from the oven and cool.

Enjoy while still warm and melty, perhaps with a glass of milk!
