How about waking up tomorrow morning, Thanksgiving, or Christmas morning (or ANY morning, for that morning) to freshly baked Cinnamon Raisin Sourdough Bread?

Sounds pretty good, right?

Secret sourdough starter mixed into a baked loaf of cinnamon, tri-colored raisins, and a hint of sugar swirl is the way to go any day of the week!

Cinnamon Raisin Sourdough Bread

1 recipe Simple Sourdough
3/4 cup sugar, divided
2 Tbs. butter, room temperature
1 Tbs. ground cinnamon, divided

Follow the Simple Sourdough recipe instructions, folding in 1/2 cup sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon before the first rise.
After folding and just before the second rise (BOTH rises should be overnight), roll out the dough, spread on the room temperature butter, and sprinkle with the remaining sugar and cinnamon. Roll into a log and then place in a greased loaf pan and cover with a towel for the second, magical rising.

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees for at least an hour (so it’s super hot) before you’re ready to bake.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.

It’s ooey-gooey like a cinnamon raisin “cinnamon roll” inside. Oh, so special!
