A cheesesteak is a sandwich made from thinly sliced pieces of beefsteak and melted cheese in a long hoagie roll. A popular regional fast food, it has its roots in the U.S. city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

And, it’s typically made with sautéed peppers!

Why not STUFF a pepper and bake in the Philly Cheesesteak way?

Philly Cheesesteak Stuffed Peppers

3 large bell peppers, tops removed and seeds removed
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
1 1lb. ground beef (or slices of beefsteak/ribeye)
1 Tbs. Lowry’s seasoning blend
sea salt and pepper
2 cups croutons
1 cup provolone cheese, finely shredded

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.

Roast the bell peppers for 10-15 minutes, until just a little soft, but still maintaining shape.

In large pot, brown the meat and onion together with the Lowry’s and sea salt and pepper.

Once the meat is thoroughly cooked through, stir in the croutons.

Stuff each pepper 1 Tbs. cheese, and then with the cheesesteak filling, and the top with the remaining cheese.
