Cinnamon Raisin Chocolate Chip Biscuit Scones

A Rustic, Cinnamon‑Laced Treat That’s Impossible to Resist

There are bakes that charm you with their looks… and then there are bakes that win you over with pure, irresistible aroma. These Cinnamon Raisin Chocolate Chip Biscuit Scones fall squarely into the second category. They are rustic, imperfect, a little wild around the edges, and absolutely unforgettable in flavor.

They were born from a simple intention: making something special for a friend who can’t resist cinnamon. And honestly, with the way these scones perfumed the kitchen: warm spice, toasted sugar, melty chocolate, and that cozy biscuit‑dough richness.
Resistance was not an option for anyone.

I started with a full bag of biscuit mix, just water to bring it together, and then the magic happened. A swirl of homemade almond buttercream folded into the dough gave it a subtle nutty sweetness. A sprinkle of white sugar added sparkle. A generous shake of cinnamon made the whole bowl smell like comfort itself. And then came the treasures: golden raisins for chewy brightness and giant dark chocolate chips for bold, molten pockets of richness.

The dough didn’t need to be perfect. In fact, its uneven folds and rugged edges made the finished scones even more charming. They baked up golden, craggy, and fragrant, the kind of treat that looks homemade in the best possible way.

And the flavor? It’s more than perfect. The cinnamon blooms beautifully against the biscuit base. The raisins soften into little bursts of sweetness. The chocolate chips melt into pools that make every bite feel indulgent. The almond buttercream threads through it all, tying the flavors together with a subtle, creamy warmth.

These scones aren’t delicate patisserie pieces; they’re heartfelt, homey, and deeply satisfying. They are the kind of baked goodie that makes a friend feel loved. The kind that disappears from the cooling rack faster than you expect. ☺️

Cinnamon Raisin Chocolate Chip Biscuit Scones

Warm, rustic, cinnamon‑rich scones with golden raisins and giant dark chocolate chips — imperfect in shape, perfect in flavor.

1 full bag biscuit mix

1 1/2 cups water

1 cup golden raisins

2 cups large dark chocolate chips

1 cup white sugar

3 Tbs. Ceylon cinnamon

1–2 Tbs. Almond Buttercream (if desired for richness) – sub almond extract for vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 400°F.

Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine biscuit mix and water until a soft dough forms.

Gently fold in almond buttercream, sugar, cinnamon, golden raisins, and chocolate chips.

Divide dough into two large mounds and place each on its own parchment-lined sheet. Pat into rough circles.

Using a pastry cutter, cut each circle into 6 wedges (like slicing a pie).

Bake for 25 minutes.

Remove from the oven and score again, separating the wedges slightly.

Return to the oven and bake until fully set and golden at the edges.

Remove from the oven, separate the wedges once more, and allow to cool.

Devour warm or at room temperature — they’re irresistible either way.
